OIC to support creation of "green" jobs in member countries

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) intends to support the creation of "green" jobs and development of skills necessary for a sustainable and low-carbon economy in member countries, Azer Bayramov, Director General of the OIC Labor Center, said at the round table "Green Work and Skills" within COP29.

According to Report, Bayramov emphasized that successful adaptation of workers to the "green" economy requires financial structures that will provide social protection and opportunities for requalification.

He noted that the OIC Labor Center contributes to strengthening member countries' efforts in labor, employment, and human capital development, and also supports the creation of mechanisms for forecasting future skills. Additionally, the organization actively works on implementing social protection programs for vulnerable populations in the context of climate change.
