A just transition to a "green economy" requires inclusivity, MP Nigar Mammadova said at a high-level roundtable on "Green Jobs and Skills" within the framework of COP29, according to Report.
"As green technologies and labor market dynamics evolve, policies in this direction must be carefully developed and adapted. This requires ongoing cooperation between government, business, and civil society, as well as unwavering commitment to long-term goals," she said.
Mammadova noted that parliament's role in aligning the skills and climate agenda is crucial for achieving a just transition. "By ensuring legislation for inclusive and accessible green jobs, we can guarantee that everyone will have the opportunity to benefit from the green economy. We must act decisively in this direction and work together to create a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future for all," the parliamentarian added.
