The UN High-Level Climate Champion for COP29, Nigar Arpadarai, called for global cooperation in combating the effects of climate change.
According to Report, speaking at the high-level event on global climate action "United Leadership for Accelerating Action Towards a Climate-Resilient Future" within COP29, she said it is now is the time for joint action, and we must not miss it.
"If we don't take advantage of this opportunity, we will miss the chance for change and lose the aspiration for it. We cannot allow this to happen. Therefore, I call for global cooperation and solidarity in fighting the consequences of climate change. We must unite. This is exactly what is sometimes missing in our work in different parts of the world. However, sometimes I do feel this solidarity," she said.
