Azerbaijan's goal, as the presiding party, is to become a bridge between the parties in dialogue, Nigar Arpadarai, UN High-Level Climate Champion for COP29, said at a panel session within the framework of the 2024 UN Climate Change Pre-Conference of Parties (Pre-COP29).
Report informs that, according to her, the global community needs to unite and coordinate climate actions.
"Different regions have different problems and opportunities, but we all have one home - the planet. Therefore, we need to trust each other," she said.
According to her, ambitious plans are very important, but transparent reporting on their actual implementation is even more important to demonstrate real progress: "Thus, non-state actors play a crucial role by providing valuable reports that can not only complement national reporting but also help shape and improve reporting on the fight against climate change."
