Nepali diplomat calls for joint efforts in combating climate crisis

Nepal, as one of the countries suffering from the effects of climate change, attaches great importance to the COP29 climate conference, Nepal's Foreign Ministry Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai told journalists on the sidelines of COP29, Report informs.

"We are a mountainous country and the issue of melting glaciers concerns us. This affects not only Nepal but other countries in the region, millions of people living in the Hindu Kush mountain range. We want to protect our mountains," the diplomat emphasized.

Bahadur Rai noted the importance of global joint efforts in fighting the climate crisis. He called on developed countries to fulfill their commitments on climate finance: "We hope that countries will fulfill their commitments and make more efforts to protect the climate."
