COP29 President and Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev, discussed the country's green energy transition plans with OPEC Fund for International Development President Abdulhamid Al-Khalifa.
Report informs, citing the fund's official account, that the parties also discussed the OPEC Fund's role in supporting the implementation of the national socio-economic development strategy "Azerbaijan 2030."
"Al-Khalifa reaffirmed the Fund's commitment to advancing climate initiatives and expressed gratitude to the COP29 presidency for its efforts in developing sustainable projects and initiatives. Following the discussions, the parties agreed to continue working together to achieve sustainable development goals and support Azerbaijan's climate policy," the post states.
