Mobilization of law enforcement agencies in climate action discussed at COP29

As part of the COP29 conference in Baku, a high-level session "Mobilizing Law Enforcement in the Fight Against Climate Change" was held.

According to Report, the session was organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the UAE Ministry of Interior.

Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, COP29 President and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Brazil's Prosecutor General Hindenburg Chateaubriand, EU Director for Human Rights and Rule of Law Gianluca Esposito, Kenya's Prosecutor General Renson Ingonga, Russia's Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, and others attended the discussions.

The speakers discussed measures to combat environmental crimes and the role of law enforcement agencies in addressing environmental issues. Kamran Aliyev and Mukhtar Babayev emphasized the importance of joint efforts in combating environmental crimes.
