Majnun Mammadov: Harmoniya Initiative to increase sustainability of agricultural sector

The Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative will increase the sustainability of the agricultural sector and play an important role in addressing climate issues in this field, Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said at the ministerial meeting "Partnership for Food and Agriculture Sustainable Transformation (FAST)" within COP29.

"This initiative will help increase the resilience of small farmers and rural communities, make climate financing more accessible and help achieve more effective results, as well as create synergy with existing climate projects and ensure their coordination. Harmoniya, as a continuation of the FAST partnership, will function as a unique platform aimed at improving the effectiveness of climate financing," he said.

Mammadov added that the initiative, created on the principles of cooperation from COP to COP, will create new opportunities for knowledge exchange and contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
