Japan Climate Initiative to hold decarbonization seminar at COP29

During COP29 in Baku, the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI) will host a seminar at the COP29 Japan Pavilion on November 21, a side event of the Japanese government, Report informs referring to the JCI.

In addition, the Alliances for Climate Action (ACA), an international network of non-state actor alliances from 10 countries including JCI, will also hold various events.

The event "Path to 1.5℃ Target: Japanese Non-State Actors Taking on Challenge of Decarbonization” will be organized by Japan Climate Initiative.

At this seminar, member organizations participating in the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI), a coalition of non-state actors actively working on climate change measures, will take the stage to share their latest efforts in Japan and globally and future enthusiasm from the perspective of each sector.

Furthermore, as the range of efforts requiring non-state actors expands and deepens, such as not only climate change measures but also biodiversity conservation, how should Japanese non-state actors enhance their actions to contribute to global decarbonization? Member organizations will discuss this issue with guests from international organizations.

Representatives of Japanese companies Hitachi, NYK LINE, Rating and Investment Information Inc., Asahi Group Holdings Ltd and others will also take part in the seminar.
