Israel ready to share knowledge and technology in combating climate crisis

Israel is a world leader in water recycling for agriculture, said Amir Givati, Director General of Israel's Meteorological Service, Report informs.

Speaking at a COP29 side event, Givati highlighted Israel's unique experience in dealing with the consequences of climate change.

"In our country, we either have very little rainfall or excessive precipitation in a short period. This week, we witnessed record rainfall once again. On the other hand, we also face the problem of drought," the director general stated.

Rather than merely accepting these challenges, Israel actively seeks technical solutions. "We apply a comprehensive methodology for managing water resources. We develop innovative technologies for irrigation and obtain most of our drinking water through desalination from the Mediterranean Sea," Givati explained.

The official also highlighted that Israel is prepared to share its knowledge and technologies with neighboring countries and other nations in the fight against the climate crisis. "We know that no country can combat this situation alone. That's why we not only demonstrate resilience against the crisis but also offer ways to solve it," he emphasized.
