IRENA: APRECA program presents tremendous opportunities for Central Asia

The Accelerated Partnership for Renewable Energy in Central Asia (APRECA) program offers significant opportunities for countries in the region, according to Francesco La Camera, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the program's founder, Report informs.

La Camera made the remark at the Investment Forum on Energy Transition in Central Asia, organized as part of COP29 in Baku.

“Central Asia possesses both renewable energy and critical mineral resource potential to position itself at the forefront of the 21st-century economy and prepare for the rapidly changing energy landscape," he stated.

The director general further noted that APRECA is a crucial opportunity that combines ambition, planning, and implementation, aimed at mobilizing the region's potential.
