An international commitment on space actions for climate will be adopted at the COP29 climate conference today, according to Samaddin Asadov, Chairman of the Board of the Space Agency (Azercosmos), who spoke at the World Space Leaders Summit within the framework of COP29.

According to Report, Asadov highlighted that in recent years, attention has been drawn to the contribution of space activities in addressing climate challenges.

"Last year, our colleagues from the UAE Space Agency set a remarkable example in this field by hosting the first Space Agency Leaders Summit," he noted.

Asadov added that space solutions are increasingly contributing to global goals, actions, and cooperation.

He emphasized that space should be viewed not only as a tool but also as a bridge connecting science, technology, policy, and other activities.

"This summit creates an opportunity to build stronger partnerships between space agencies, international organizations, governments, researchers, and the private sector," he added.
