IDEA and ICESCO sign protocol of intent

A protocol of intent was signed between the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the IDEA Public Association (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) within the framework of COP29, on November 19.

The document was inked by IDEA founder and head Leyla Aliyeva and ICESCO Director General Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik.

The purpose of the protocol of intent is to expand bilateral cooperation between ICESCO and IDEA in combating climate change, participating in environmental activities, and jointly implementing relevant initiatives.

The parties agreed to expand cooperation in ICESCO member states in the areas of environmental protection, soil degradation prevention, food and water security, information work, joint research, pilot projects, as well as youth and volunteer engagement, exchange programs, and knowledge sharing.

The meeting participants expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation, noting that this will strengthen solidarity and ensure more effective projects to enhance climate resilience in the countries of Islamic world.
