The private sector should take a more active role in climate financing issues, Henry Gonzalez, director of investments at the Green Climate Fund, said at the Climate and Development Ministerial (C&DM) during the second day of Pre-COP29 in Baku, Report informs.
Gonzalez called for an increase in climate change financing. He said that given the need for large-scale financing, the private sector should also play an active role.
He also noted that in two weeks, a ministerial-level meeting dedicated to adaptation financing will be organized in Washington.
"We hope that at COP29 we will have the opportunity to meet with the finance ministers of participating countries and discuss important issues such as the distribution of financing," he said.
