Azerbaijan is cooperating with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to actively involve youth in the processes of the green agenda and addressing climate change issues, Leyla Hasanova, the youth climate champion for COP29 in Azerbaijan, told Report.
She emphasized that young people play an important role in addressing climate change issues, and that is why Azerbaijan seeks to actively involve them in this process.
Hasanova noted that young people are interested in this new direction for the region.
"The green initiative and climate change represent a new context for our region as a whole, and it can be said that preparations are going very actively. It is encouraging that young people strive to be involved in discussions and want to be at the center of debates aimed at addressing climate change issues and its consequences. This is important for us as the chair of COP29, as well as for the country and the entire region," she added.
