Georgian National Museum director visits AZCHEMCO Pavilion in Green Zone

Today, as part of a visit to the Green Zone, the Director of the Georgian National Museum, Corresponding Member of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, Professor David Lordkipanidze, viewed the pavilion of Azerbaijani liquid and water-soluble fertilizer producer AZCHEMCO.

Professor Lordkipanidze and the visiting guests were shown a video about the history of the project to restore saline soils and return them to agriculture, as part of AZCHEMCO's collaboration with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Rifat Sultan-zada, the company's vice president, presented the company's successes in this project to the guests. Based on laboratory studies by Azelab and Intertek, it was revealed that the soil salinity index decreased from 3.6 to 0.3, and electrical conductivity dropped from 9140 to 291. This confirmed the possibility of using the restored saline soil in agriculture.

At the end of the visit, Professor David Lordkipanidze planted strawberry seedlings in the restored soil. In the next stage, after the fruits ripen, soil and strawberry samples will be transferred to the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency for testing for chemical traces.
