GE Vernova: Carbon capture plays crucial role in energy sector

Carbon capture and storage play crucial role in the energy sector, GE Vernova's Chief Sustainability Officer Roger Martella said at a COP29 event in Baku, Report informs.

"We are working on both hydrogen and carbon capture. Our turbines will be ready for 100% hydrogen by 2030. However, many believe that hydrogen might find better applications, while carbon capture is becoming an even more important factor for energy," Martella emphasized.

According to him, capture is key for both electrification and decarbonization. "This technology can also be applied in many different areas, including industry. We want to collaborate and work with both public and private sectors to develop this concept," he said.
