The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Baku on November 22, 2024, will allow Azerbaijan to demonstrate and share its experiences in terms of the perspective of the region, Muhammad Nasar Hayat, FAO representative in Azerbaijan, told Report.
The FAO official said that this will also make Azerbaijan a global leader in climate change adaptation: "This is one of the best events for Azerbaijan in 2024. In the framework of COP29, the Investment Forum for Central Asia will also be held.”
Muhammad Nasar Hayat noted that the participation of the UN at COP29 will be at the highest level: "COP29 is a great opportunity for Azerbaijan to become an important player in global climate change negotiations and discussions."
