Experts gather in Baku to discuss pressing geographical issues ahead of COP29

The Institute of Geography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has launched the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern Problems of Geography: Integration of Science and Education," dedicated to the upcoming COP29 climate conference.

According to Report, the two-day conference will focus on a wide range of pressing issues, including the assessment, use, and protection of climate and water resources, efficient land use and its ecological problems, ecogeographical foundations of sustainable development in Azerbaijan, and the protection of soil and vegetation cover. Participants will also discuss the current state of landscape use in the country.

Young researchers will have the opportunity to share their vision for solving socio-economic problems in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

On the first day of the conference, attendees heard reports on topics such as the problems of using the natural resource potential of regions and ways to solve them.
