Dutch minister: Health and climate change have significant connection

There is a very important link between health and climate change, Vincent Karremans, the Dutch Minister for Youth, Prevention and Sport, stated at a COP29 session themed "Baku Human Development Initiative for Climate Resilience" held in Baku, Report informs

Karremans stated that climate change is a major risk to everyone's health, especially children:

"When fighting climate change and reducing emissions, we must also look at human health. For example, in Rotterdam, Europe's largest port, we are working on more green infrastructure to combat heavy rain and extreme heat.

Having more greenery has great benefits. Because it creates clean air, encourages people to engage in sports, and children to play and run. Today, the Netherlands Ministry of Health funds and supports relevant projects in this regard because this is a very pressing issue in the fight against climate change."
