Documents on resource efficiency initiatives adopted in Baku

The "Baku Declaration on Resource Efficiency and Circular Agenda" and the "Joint Statement on Launching the Regional Initiative on Resource Sustainability and Circular Economy in the ECO Region" were adopted within the framework of COP29 in Baku, Report informs.

According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, a meeting of ministers on circular economy was organized in Baku within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

The event was moderated by Dechen Tsering, Director of the Regional Office and Climate Change Division of the UN Environment Programme.

Circular economy represents a regenerative economic model aimed at efficient resource use. It offers solutions to global challenges such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.

Deputy Minister of Economy Samid Bashirli emphasized the key role of ECO in developing economic cooperation between member countries.

The event also included document presentations and discussions on current issues.
