OTS working on multilateral food security agreement

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is working on a multilateral agreement on food security, Deputy Secretary General of the organization, Sadi Jafarov, told a COP29 event titled "From Global Goals to Local Actions: Regional Initiatives for Strengthening Sustainable Agri-Food Systems" held in Baku, Report informs.

According to Jafarov, ensuring food security is a priority issue for each member state of the organization: "The purpose of this agreement is to address common food security issues such as access to food, poverty reduction, and stabilization of food prices."

He added that by developing climate-resilient villages in Turkic states, it is possible to significantly improve the quality of life and stimulate economic growth: "This will be achieved through improving digital infrastructure, public services, and using clean energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydropower."
