"We must strengthen policies against deforestation and ecosystem degradation," Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Taghiyeva told a high-level meeting titled "Forests for Climate, Nature and People: Climate Financing for Forests" held within the framework of COP29 in Baku, Report informs.
The deputy minister called on everyone not only to protect and restore forests but also to take concrete action to maintain forests' key role as a sustainable resource for humanity:
"Through collective action and strengthened partnership, we can unlock the full potential of forests for climate, nature and people."
