Azerbaijan is really committed to the COP29 agenda, the country's Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Karimov said at the tenth of the “29 Climate Conversations: Road to COP29”, jointly organized by UNFPA and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Report informs.
Karimov emphasized the need to integrate approaches related to demographic trends in strategic planning when determining the course of sustainable development: “Determining the relationship between climate change and demographic trends helps to better manage the effects of climate change.”
In turn, UNFPA Country Director for Azerbaijan Mariam Khan noted that climate change affects every aspect of birth, migration and death: “Each person has an impact on the environment. These are our personal choices and decisions. Therefore, the fight against climate change is important.”
