The Azerbaijani government has supported initiatives of 177,000 women farmers, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Gadimova said at the event "Launch of the Baku Harmony Climate Initiative for Farmers: Expanding Opportunities to Increase Farmers' Climate Resilience" within the COP29, Report informs.
She emphasized that in Azerbaijan, gender equality is not just a policy, but a comprehensive strategy based on various tools, projects, and programs.
"Thanks to the country's leadership initiatives, we continue to provide support to women farmers," said Gadimova.
She also noted that the initiative proposed by Azerbaijan (Baku Harmoniya Initiative) will strengthen this support at the international level.
"With the implementation of digitalization, farmers will gain access to real-time data. The initiative will eliminate existing difficulties in knowledge and skills exchange, ensure funding coordination, unite programs and initiatives, and strengthen international cooperation," she added.
