COP29 volunteers spearhead 'Recycling Activists' clean-up campaign in Baku

COP29 volunteers recently conducted another successful clean-up operation dubbed "Recycling Activists" in one of the parks located in the Bakikhanov settlement of Baku's Sabunchu district, Report informs, citing the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company.

According to the Press Service of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, the volunteers diligently cleaned the park area, collecting household waste for recycling. They handed over the collected waste to Clean City OJSC for proper recycling.

During this eco-friendly initiative, the volunteers engaged in enlightening conversations with park visitors about the importance of public cleanliness and improving the ecological condition of city parks.

They also took the opportunity to inform residents about the upcoming COP29 conference scheduled to be held in Baku this November, addressing any questions the public had about this significant global event.

The environmental action continued with an educational visit to Clean City OJSC, where volunteers gained firsthand experience of waste management practices. In an impressive feat, the volunteers collected and delivered over 230 kilograms of various types of solid household waste to the Solid Household Waste Sorting Plant for recycling.

During their visit to the facility, the volunteers acquired valuable insights into proper waste management techniques, modern processing systems, and current trends in the field.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort by COP29 volunteers to raise public awareness about climate change issues, potential solutions, and the crucial role of collective action in addressing these challenges.
