COP29 president talks on Azerbaijan's chairmanship success in New York

COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev spoke about the progress of Azerbaijan's presidency at the third meeting of the International Advisory Committee on the Climate Conference, which will be held in November in Baku, organized on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Report informs.

"During the third meeting of the COP29 International Advisory Committee at the UNGA, the COP29 President-Designate shared key updates on the COP29 Presidency’s progress since August. Highlights included the appointment of [Australian Energy Minister] Chris Bowen as the new Ministerial Pair on the NCQG, the launch of the Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform, the announcement of Zulfiya Suleimen [Special Representative of the President of Kazakhstan for International Environmental Cooperation] and Francesco Corvaro [Italy's Special Envoy for Climate Change] as High-Level Co-Pairs for Transparency, and the publication of the full list of initiatives and declarations that make up the COP29 Presidency’s Action Agenda," according to COP29 page on X.
