COP29 Presidency led by Mukhtar Babayev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-designate, has discussed the upcoming session on biodiversity in Columbia with Astrid Schomaker, the Executive Secretary of UN Biodiversity, Report informs.
"The COP29 Presidency sat down with Astrid Schomaker, the Executive Secretary of UN Biodiversity to discuss the upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference in Columbia (COP16) and the how the respective Presidencies of the UNFCCC COP29, CBD COP16, and UNCCD COP16 will continue collaboration as part of the 'Rio Trio' partnership. Climate change threatens the rich biodiversity of our planet – and we must work in collaboration to make peace with nature," COP29 Presidency said in a post on X.
