COP29 President-designate meets with representatives of AOSIS

The team of the COP29 leadership has held a bilateral meeting with the representatives of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) within the framework of the UN International Climate Conference in Bonn, Germany, Report informs.

During the meeting, Mukhtar Babayev, the Ecology and Natural Resources Minister of Azerbaijan, President-designate of COP29, informed the conference participants about main issues on Azerbaijan’s COP29 agenda.

Small Island States are included in the category of countries sensitive to the negative effects of climate change.

During the meeting, participants engaged in dialogue regarding strategies for adapting to the adverse impacts of climate change. They explored topics such as climate finance, the challenges of rising sea levels, and the occurrence of natural disasters. The discussions also covered the environmental issues that small island nations encounter, potential solutions, and the anticipated outcomes from the upcoming COP29 conference.
