COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev has met with Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), as posted on the COP29 official X social media account, Report informs.
“Today, COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev had a productive meeting with Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of UNFCCC at June Climate Meetings at UN Bonn. They discussed strategies to enhance global action on Climate Action and cooperation ahead of COP29 in Baku,” reads the post.
Baku will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in November 2024. This decision was adopted at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11, 2023. Within the framework of the event, the Azerbaijani capital will receive about 70,000-80,000 foreign guests.
