COP29 partnership program presented to SMEs

COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company met with local small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and presented the COP29 partnership program, Report informs, citing the company.

COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company has announced a unique partnership program for the representation of local SMEs within COP29 to be held in Baku on November 11-22, 2024.

Opportunities offered under the program were announced at a meeting between representatives of SMEs and the Operating Company with the participation of UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29 Azerbaijan Nigar Arpadarai.

The main goals of the partnership program are to promote the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable production methods among local entrepreneurs and to raise awareness about the environment and climate change. The partnership program serves to promote the products of national brands to the international audience by exhibiting local SME goods within the framework of the COP29 conference and to support the share of SMEs in the development of the country's economy.

Speaking at the meeting, Arpadarai noted that as a high-level climate champion, one of the priority areas of activity is supporting the transition of SMEs to green business. Addressing local entrepreneurs, she spoke about the importance of strengthening joint activities with SMEs.

At the meeting, the representatives of local business entities were given detailed information on the terms and rules of application to the program, product quality requirements, conditions to be created for entrepreneurs in the Green and Blue Zones of COP29, product branding and packaging.

At the end of the meeting, opinions were exchanged on topics and questions of interest to entrepreneurs.

SME representatives who intend to benefit from COP29 partnership opportunities can send their applications to merchandising@cop29.az by July 31.
