The COP29 Operating Company is set to become the first Azerbaijani company to obtain the ISO 20121:2024 certification, showcasing its commitment to sustainable event management, said Konul Garashli, Manager of Sustainability Operations and Assurance at the COP29 Operating Company, Report informs.
Garashli made this announcement during an information session about the Green Zone at COP29 for Azerbaijani NGOs, organized by the COP29 Operating Company with the support of the Agency for State Support to NGOs of Azerbaijan.
She highlighted that the sustainable practices established during COP29 will serve as a model for future events, emphasizing: “Achieving ISO 20121:2024 certification for COP29 demonstrates our dedication to sustainable event management, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing social responsibility.”
The official also noted that COP29 Operating Company’s this achievement sets a precedent for other event management organizations to adhere to sustainable event management standards.
