COP29 executive director debunks rumors of lockdown during event in Baku

Elnur Soltanov, the Executive Director of COP29, has debunked rumors suggesting that residents of Baku will be prohibited from leaving their homes during the upcoming climate conference.

In a statement to Report, Soltanov clarified that no restrictions or bans on the movement of citizens are being planned by the competent authorities for the duration of COP29.

"There are no intentions to introduce limitations, prohibitions, or SMS-based permissions for residents to leave their homes in connection with COP29," Soltanov stated. He urged the public not to trust unreliable information and to rely solely on official data provided by government institutions.
