ClimateScanner: Countries in dire need of international financing have limited access to it

Countries in dire need of international financing have limited access to it, according to the results of the ClimateScanner project, which was announced at a COP29 event held in Baku, Report informs.

According to the results, most countries in need of financing lack mechanisms for needs assessment or mapping of possible financial sources.

Furthermore, the project implementation concluded that adaptation policies for some important areas either don't exist or are in early development stages: "47% of countries either lack adaptation policies or are in early development stages in sectors such as water, food security, and natural disasters."

At the end of the event, it is planned to adopt a communique reflecting collective commitment to achieving progress in sustainable development and digital transformation in the region.
