China fully supports Azerbaijan's COP29 presidency, Chargé d'Affaires of China in Azerbaijan Ding Tao said at an event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, Report informs.
According to Ding Tao, China is committed to creating a fair global climate governance system with Azerbaijan based on mutually beneficial cooperation.
"Practical cooperation between our countries continues to deepen. In the first seven months of this year, bilateral trade turnover increased by 21.9% year-on-year, reaching a record high. The Belt and Road Initiative is helping to accelerate coordination within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, due to the fact that the number of China-Europe express trains passing through Azerbaijan in the southern part of this route is rapidly increasing," he said.
Ding Tao noted that trade turnover between China and Azerbaijan is also showing dynamic growth. According to him, Azerbaijani products are increasingly gaining recognition in China.
"The last 32 years of Chinese-Azerbaijani relations have demonstrated that, countries with different social systems, ideologies and histories can successfully cooperate adhering to the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference in the internal affairs of another state, equality and mutual benefit, as well as peaceful coexistence," he said.
The Chargé d'Affaires of China noted that cooperation between the two countries is also developing within the framework of international organizations.
