BSEC: Improving environment in Black Sea region requires lots of effort

Improving the environment of the Black Sea region and managing climate challenges as effectively as possible requires lots of effort, Lazar Comanescu, Secretary-General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), said in his statement to journalists on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, Report informs.

According to Comanescu, government institutions play an important role in managing climate challenges.

The BSEC official noted that Azerbaijan will take over the organization's chairmanship from January 1, 2025. He expressed optimism about the future.

"We are looking forward to working intensively to advance the goals set for strengthening cooperation in the Black Sea region, especially to tackle the climate change challenges. Because we have a lot of work to do to improve the environment in the Black Sea region as well," the secretary-general added.
