Baku hosts session on urbanization and water security

As part of Baku's Climate Action Week, a panel session titled "Cities/Urbanized Environment" and "Water Security" took place in Azerbaijan's capital. The event brought together experts to discuss the critical role of sustainable urban planning in combating climate change.

According to Report, the session featured prominent speakers, including Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts; Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture; Lynn O'Grady, Deputy Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; and Elmar Mammadov, Co-Chair of the COP29 Agenda Global Initiative Group.

The panel session culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and the International Finance Corporation "On Cooperation in the Development of a Roadmap for the Concept of Green Buildings Development in Azerbaijan."
