The Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative serves as a crucial collaboration platform for countries in the region, said Nurali Asozoda, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan, Report informs.
Speaking at the event titled “Launch of Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative for Farmers: Empowering Farmers for Climate Resilience,” held within the framework of COP29, Asozoda praised Azerbaijan's role in this initiative.
"The Baku Harmoniya Initiative is an important example in terms of creating a strong cooperation mechanism in the fight against climate change," Asozoda emphasized. He highlighted the extensive measures undertaken by the Tajikistan government to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change on agriculture.
The deputy minister added that these measures include supporting initiatives related to the application of technological innovations, water-saving technologies, and efficient use of natural resources. "These steps not only increase productivity but also play a crucial role in building resilience against climate change," the deputy minister noted.
Asozoda also mentioned the training programs conducted in the areas of financial management, financial literacy, and cooperative management to enhance the knowledge and skills of farmers. "Supporting women farmers, in particular, is one of our main goals to ensure the transition of farming communities to more sustainable and efficient systems," he added.
