As Azerbaijan hosts COP29, a series of meetings are being held with delegations from international organizations and foreign countries visiting the nation.
According to Report, citing the Prosecutor General's Office, Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with the delegation led by the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Asad Majeed Khan, on November 14.
The Prosecutor General emphasized that COP29 is being organized at the highest level under the direct leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
The parties discussed the upcoming high-level session themed "Mobilizing Law Enforcement in the Fight Against Climate Change," co-organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and co-chaired by the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, to be held on November 15 as part of COP29. They addressed the impact of organized crime and illegal activities on climate change and their devastating effects on the environment.
The ECO Secretary General expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, highlighting the successful continuation of COP29 under Azerbaijan's Presidency.
Asad Majeed Khan noted that the Economic Cooperation Organization places great importance on climate action and sustainable development. He emphasized Azerbaijan's crucial role in solving climate issues on a regional and global scale, stressing the significance of joint cooperation.
