Azerbaijani MP: COP29 is a UN event, boycotting it lacks sense

Calls by some countries and organizations to boycott the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) are clear signs of their weakness, according to Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Committee on International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Connections of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan.

According to Report, in a statement to journalists, Seyidov emphasized, "Boycotting such international events is a clear proof of their weakness and being in crisis, as this is not an event of Azerbaijan, but a UN event held in our country. It means they are ready to boycott the whole world for the sake of their interests. As you can see, neither boycotts nor calls for any sanctions have an effect, because global problems are discussed here at the highest level."
