Year by year, there is a noticeable shift from traditional workplaces to technological and greener jobs, Azerbaijan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev stated at a COP29 session themed "Baku Human Development Initiative for Climate Resilience" held in Baku, Report informs
According to Babayev, creating labor resources in the relevant field is a key factor facing every government:
"Of course, every government mainly benefits from population employment. Countries should ensure full employment as much as possible to provide decent work and living opportunities for the population. Green skills should also be developed. In this regard, we are actively working with almost all state and private institutions. Along with the traditional education system, schools, colleges, and universities, we are trying to provide new skills to approximately 15,000 people annually through our vocational training centers in Azerbaijan."
The minister noted that new standards and curricula are being provided for green jobs and green skills:
"We are trying to bring as many green-skilled workers to the market as possible. Over the past two years, together with our partners, we have already organized more than 1,600 courses."
