Azerbaijan, UN ink security co-op memo

A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of security has been signed between the Government of Azerbaijan and the UN Climate Change Conference, Report informs.

"During the Pre-COP meetings in Baku, a Memorandum of Understanding on Security Cooperation was signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the UNFCC. This document outlines the principles and structure for security cooperation both within and outside of the COP29 venue. This milestone marks the final of four framework documents for the organization of the conference in November!" according to the COP29 page on X.

The UN Climate Change Conference is the highest body of the negotiation process for implementing the provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Kyoto Protocol (KP), and the Paris Agreement (PA). These events started in 1995 and initially were small working sessions. Over time, they have become one of the largest forums convened under the auspices of the UN and other international organizations.
