Azerbaijan’s Border Service: Number of personnel increased due to COP29

The number of employees of the State Border Service (SBS) Border Control at Heydar Aliyev International Airport has been increased due to COP29, SBS Border Control officer Nijat Jahidzada said, Report informs.

According to Jahidzada, if any emergency occurs during COP29, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure system and network sustainability:

"Guests coming to the event will be met by COP29 Operations Company and directed to border control cabins through special passage lanes. SBS Border Control officers will quickly check documents, with a 45-second processing time for foreign citizens and 30 seconds for local citizens attending the event. The number of employees has been increased due to COP29.

Necessary measures have been taken to increase attention to border control for high-level organization of the event, establish reliable service at checkpoints, various interactions between relevant government agencies, and monitor special technical means to avoid delays. Also, the number of personnel workstations has been increased to eliminate congestion. Modern tools and technologies are being used."
