Azerbaijan Railways, International Union of Railways mull prospects for cooperation

Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) and the International Union of Railways (UIC) discussed key areas of joint work within the framework of COP29.

Report informs, citing ADY's press service that the negotiations were attended by ADY Chairman Rovshan Rustamov, UIC Head and President of Polish Railways (PKP) Alan Beroud, and PKP's Director of Representative Office in Belgium Tomasz Lachowicz.

The meeting focused on global climate challenges and the role of joint initiatives in overcoming them. The parties discussed the development of cooperation between ADY, UIC, and PKP, Azerbaijan's participation in international railway projects, innovations in international freight transportation, digitalization, and best practices in sustainable development.
