Azerbaijan presents third Environmental Performance Review at COP29

Azerbaijan presented its third Environmental Performance Review (EPR) report, prepared by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and included in the agenda of COP29.

According to Report, the presentation was attended by Tatiana Molchan, Executive Secretary of UNECE, Vladanka Andreeva, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of international organizations and relevant institutions.

During the presentation, the results of the third-stage report were unveiled, highlighting the progress made since the preparation of the second-stage report. A dialogue was also held on engaging stakeholders in the implementation of new recommendations.

The aim of the EPR is to align Azerbaijan's environmental and economic goals, support the formulation of national policies in this field, and assess the country's fulfillment of its international environmental obligations.

The first EPR report for Azerbaijan was prepared in 2003, and the second in 2011.
