The presentation of ESGhub.az platform (https://esghub.az/), a unified online space for Azerbaijan's environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices and initiatives, was held on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, Report informs, citing the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.
The platform was presented at a high-level roundtable held by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the International Telecommunication Union as part of Science, Technology and Innovation / Digitalization Day in the Blue Zone of COP29.
Vusal Shykhaliyev, Head of Secretariat of Azerbaijan's Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, and Sector Manager of the Department of Economic Policy and Industry Issues of the Presidential Administration, said: "Today we are witnessing major changes in business circles and societies' approach to sustainable development and ethical values. Amid challenges related to climate change, social inequality, sustainable finance, and transparent governance the importance of ESG principles and ESG reporting is increasing day by day. The launch of the ESG Hub Azerbaijan platform, created with the support of the International Bank of Azerbaijan OJSC, Azercell Telecom LLC and other stakeholders within the framework of public-private dialogue, aims to address these challenges."
During the presentation, it was noted that the ESG Hub platform not only aims to raise awareness in the ESG field through its multifaceted resources but also serves as a networking platform that combines public and private sector ESG efforts to contribute to a sustainable future. This platform will enable every organization to incorporate ESG values into their operations and contribute to long-term sustainable development and future generations.
It was emphasized that ESG Hub offers extensive opportunities to facilitate organizations' incorporation of ESG principles into their daily operations and long-term strategies.
