COP29 has taken significant steps to ensure that all voices are heard, Aygun Aliyeva, the Executive Director of the Agency for State Support to NGOs, said during a joint discussion of Azerbaijani, UAE, and Brazilian NGOs organized during COP29, Report informs.
Aliyeva stated, "The UAE, Azerbaijan, and Brazil are united by common aspirations, sustainability, progress, and cooperation, playing a unique role in solving the global problems they face. It is possible to build a world that benefits all nations and peoples by eliminating differences through cooperation."
“This spirit of unity and shared vision has been demonstrated through the Troika mechanism, one of the most fundamental outcomes of collective efforts.”
She added that the long-standing perspective on collaborative activities originating from Azerbaijan represents a new era of partnership. The official also pointed out that cooperation with COP28 in the UAE and COP30 in Brazil ensures a seamless transition of the ‘Troika's’ continuous coordination and predictable leadership.
Aliyeva emphasized the need to strive for climate action that is not only comprehensive but also effective. "Those who are most vulnerable among us, women, youth, isolated communities, and those in regions most affected by climate change, must be at the center of our solution. COP29 has taken important steps to ensure that all voices are heard. We cannot afford to leave anyone behind on our journey towards a sustainable future," she added.
Aliyeva highlighted the call for peace and cooperation during climate negotiations, stating, "Today, we stand together, believing that climate change knows no borders and that we can only build the future we want to see through dialogue, mutual understanding, and unity. As we look to the future, let us remember not only what we have achieved but also what we can achieve together."
