Andre Correa do Lago: Brazil plans to achieve new industrialization in renewable energy

In Brazil, 90% of consumed energy is produced from renewable energy sources, Andre Correa do Lago, Secretary for Climate, Energy and Environment at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during a panel session on the second day of Pre-COP29 in Baku.

He noted that Brazil needs renewable energy not only for domestic consumption but also for export.

"In the case of Brazil and other developing countries, there is an opportunity to achieve new industrialization based on renewable energy, and this is mainly what developing countries can offer," he said.
