Ambassador to Netherlands speaks on agenda and goals of Azerbaijan during COP29

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Netherlands, Rahman Mustafayev, in an interview with the English-language Dutch newspaper Holland Times spoke about the agenda and main goals of the November UN climate summit in Baku.

According to Report, Mustafayev informed readers about Azerbaijan's specific steps to intensify dialogue and cooperation between the industrial North and the developing South within the framework of various international organizations.

According to him, over the past period, Azerbaijan has acquired enormous experience, authority and diplomatic potential, which will allow it to successfully resolve the issues on the agenda of the Baku Climate Conference.

In addition, the ambassador spoke about the progress of the peace process between Baku and Yerevan, the beginning of the process of delimitation and demarcation of the border, and Azerbaijan's efforts in the field of mine clearance and reconstruction of liberated lands.

Mustafayev noted that given the relevance of the mine issue and the negative impact of minefields on the environment, a special event is planned to be held within the framework of COP29 to attract the attention of the world community to this problem.

COP 29 will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, in November this year. The decision in this regard was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11, 2023. As part of the event, Baku will receive about 70,000 to 80,000 foreign guests.
