Ambassador: PM Viktor Orban to represent Hungary at COP29

Prime Minister Viktor Orban will represent Hungary at COP29, making his third visit to Azerbaijan in less than a year, Tamas Torma, Hungary's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Torma made the remark at the official reception held on the occasion of his country's National Day.

"COP29 is a great challenge. Azerbaijan is doing a very impressive job for the benefit of all of us. Hungary fully supports the goals of Azerbaijan's Presidency, and we are confident that the country will successfully host the event," the ambassador stated.

According to him, relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary have been developing for over 30 years. The ambassador emphasized that the two countries will be united by the Green Energy Corridor Project, a joint initiative of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Georgia, and Romania, contributing to Europe's clean energy supply.

"The reconstruction of the liberated Soltanli village by a Hungarian company is ongoing. This symbolizes both our commitments to reconstruction and the role of education in our relations," the ambassador added.

The Hungarian Embassy in Azerbaijan is holding an official reception on the occasion of Hungary's National Day in Baku. Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, is attending the event as an honorary guest. Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan and members of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) are also among the guests.
